The Economic Development Alliance
The Bay County Economic Development Alliance (EDA) is a
program of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce to promote economic growth
and development in Bay County. With the help of its funding partners and
community support, the EDA has aided in the creation of over 2,400 new
jobs since the year 2000. Now, in 2007, another era of growth is upon us
as the real estate market booms, unemployment rates drop, and the
relocation of the Panama City-Bay County International Airport comes to
fruition.
The EDA continues to work for a more diverse and abundant economic community by marketing to target industries such as:
-
Aviation/Aerospace
-
Defense/Research and Development
-
Back Office/Financial Services
-
Light Manufacturing/Metal Fabrication
-
Site Consultants/Corporate Real Estate
-
Construction Materials
-
Air Cargo/Distribution and Logistics
In addition, the EDA is involved in regional and national economic development organizations including Florida’s Great Northwest, the Florida Economic Development Council, and the National Economic Development Council. Through these efforts, the EDA strives to meet its economic development goals and objectives for Bay County.
Mission Statement: The Bay County Economic development Alliance is a public/private partnership whose purpose is to establish Bay County as a globally competitive environment to conduct business, encourage economic growth that enhances our standard of like, and facilitate the creation of an environment that encourages the expansion of existing business and the location of new business.
