Small Business Institute

The Small Business Institute (SBI) is a committee of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce developed to help grow the small business. Participation in SBI is available to all members of Bay County Chamber. SBI meets monthly to conduct roundtable discussions on issues affecting small businesses.

Resources from partnerships with Small Business Incubator, Gulf Coast Community College Small Business Development Center, Bay County Economic Development Alliance, Gulf Coast Community College, Florida State University PC campus and Florida State University’s Jim Moran Institute will be on hand at each monthly meeting to help members of SBI solve issues that may be affecting their business. The Committee also selects the Small Business of the Month Award as well as the Small Business of the Year Award.

Small Business of the Month

 Congratulations to FERRELL FINANCIAL, LLC for being selected as the April 2008 Small Business of the Month!

The purpose of this award is to recognize businesses for their successful growth, stability and community involvement. In order to be considered for this award, the company must have fewer than 35 employees, in business for a minimum of two years, and a member in good standing with the Bay County Chamber of Commerce. Continuing Education
The Small Business Institute hosts workshops throughout the year addressing the needs of small businesses. Topics include workers compensation, financial planning, government contracting, developing business plans and more.

Congressman Boyd’s Small Business Conference
Congressman Boyd is a large supporter of entrepreneurs and has called on the national administration to support policies and programs that aid small businesses. The conference provides an informational and networking opportunity for emerging and established small business owners.

Visibility for Your Business
Additional visibility for your company is available through:

  • Free display of brochures and cards in the Chamber lobby

  • Advertising opportunities in Bay Biz, Bay County Relocation Guide, the Bay County Map, and the Chamber Website

  • Sponsorship opportunities

  • Grand opening events held for new businesses
