Ambassadors

Mission
To serve as the official diplomatic representatives of the
Chamber of Commerce coordinating groundbreakings, grand openings, and
other interactions between the Chamber, it’s membership and the public.
Objectives
-
Gathering to open new businesses as designated by their initial payment of membership in the Bay County Chamber of Commerce
-
Officially greet and participate in grand openings, groundbreakings, and ribbon cuttings, as well as aid in meetings coordinated by the Bay County Chamber
-
Promoting Bay County by serving as the community “goodwill ambassadors”
Activity Fee
-
The current fee is $25 paid by each Ambassador (each year) to cover expenses such as badges, refreshments, etc
-
Should you have a name change, change jobs, need a new badge for any reason the Ambassador will be responsible for the charges
Attendance Requirements
-
It is extremely important that the Ambassador locate the sign in sheet as soon as they arrive. The Chamber staff is not responsible for signing in Ambassadors

Ambassadors
are required to maintain at least 70% attendance rate within
each quarter. If they have not met the required attendance then
they will be reviewed at the end of the quarter to be determined
if they will be excused from the committee. If the
Ambassador chooses to rejoin, he or she will be placed on a
waiting list and must pay a $20 reactivation fee
Delivery of New Chamber Member Plaques
-
Ambassadors
who attend monthly Ambassador meetings will be given the
opportunity to deliver plaques to new Chamber members.
Formalize the delivery of new member packets and adopt the
assigned new member for a period of time by introducing them at
First Friday and Business After Hours to other Chamber Members -
It is crucial that the plaques be delivered the same week of the meeting so the new member can be notified of the upcoming First Friday and any other events that may be occurring

Ambassadors who attend the monthly meeting will also have the opportunity to include their marketing or promo information along with the new member plaque and information
Notice of Events

You will receive email or fax notification of monthly meetings, grand openings, etc. from the responsible Chamber staff
Apple of Our Eye Selection

It is the responsibility of the Ambassadors to select each month’s recipients for renovation and new construction
-
A ballot will be available at each monthly meeting. Additional nominees for consideration can be added to the ballot for next month’s meeting
Spotlight on Ambassador Recognition

Each quarter one Ambassador will be recognized for having the best attendance or going above and beyond their Ambassador duties
Ambassador Code of Conduct
-
All
Ambassador Committee members are subject to a code of conduct
consistent with the intent of the Chamber of Commerce for the
establishment of the committee. It is therefore understood that
a member may be removed from the committee whenever their
conduct is detrimental to the established goal of a harmonious
liaison between the Chamber and the business community. The
member will be notified in writing and removed from the
committee. All Ambassadors must maintain current Chamber
membership status and agrees that their conduct at events will
be taken into consideration prior to removal. The decision of
the Chamber President to remove a member shall be final.
