FRIDAY FEST in downtown Panama City

“Friday Fest” is held the first Friday of each month from March through November ...


and offers unique retail booths, great food, extended store hours, classic car displays, children’s activities, and best of all, family-friendly live bands that will have the entire family grooving to the beat on the street.


The hub of activity takes place in the 200, 300, 400 and 500 blocks of Harrison Avenue. All areas will be closed to vehicular traffic.  FOUR stages will be set up, one at the intersection of Harrison and 6th Street, Harrison and 5th Street, Harrison and 4th, and in front of Trigo.

Summer Swimming at Boys and Girls Club

This summer, come enjoy Panama City's only public swimming pool this side of the Hathaway Bridge!    


The Aquatic Center at the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County offers public swimming, American Red Cross (ARC) certified swimming lessons for both children and adults, water aerobics, pool rentals and movie night.  


There are ARC scholarships available to reduce the cost of swimming lessons.

GCSC 2016 Summer Theatre

Gulf Coast State College’s Division of Visual & Performing Arts is excited to announce the GCSC 2016 Summer Theatre Project: New Student Orientation.


During this six-week course students will create original material to be presented as part of this summer’s on-campus new student orientation. The course will be taught by Jason Hedden, Chair of Visual & Performing Arts.


Current, dual enrolled and future students with an interest in acting, improv, music, entrepreneurship, digital media, technical theatre, creative writing, storytelling, dance, gymnastics, extreme sports, puppetry, engineering, photography, videography, choreography, radio, design, costuming, sound recording, visual art, marketing or any other creative technology-based field are encouraged to apply. Financial assistance is available to eligible individuals.


Classes will be held May 12 – June 28 and will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., with three additional meetings on July 12, 26 and 28.

Front Porch Concert Series @ McKenzie Park

The Panama City Downtown Improvement Board again hosts Front Porch Concert Series beginning this Thursday (5/19) in McKenzie Park on Luverne Avenue (directly behind the fountain on Harrison Ave) from 6:30-9:00pm.

1st Annual Blindfolded Regatta



Panama City Lions Club will be holding is first annual Blindfolded Regatta at the  Panama City Marina (southern end of Harrison Avenue in downtown Panama City) Memorial Day weekend on May 28.  Teams will compete with one blindfolded person rowing a 'dingy' (kayak) in the water while another person riding along directs the way.  


Entries are only $25 and you can create your own 'dingy' or use one provided by the Panama City Marina.  Local media, banks, attorneys and even charities will be competing as we challenge our fellow civic organizations to ratce the Lions Club team.  Public officials are encouraged to attend.

At 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30 the Bay County Veterans Council and the Bay County Board of County Commissioners will host the annual Memorial Day observance at Kent Forest Lawn Cemetery, located at 2403 Harrison Ave., Panama City.  

The ceremony is a tribute to the men and women who have served our great nation and have given their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy.

Anchors Away 6K & One Mile Family Fun Run

Join us for the annual Anchors Away 6K & One Mile Family Fun Run on Saturday, June 4, 2016 through the beautiful trails in the Panama City Beach Conservation Park. All proceeds from the event support Anchorage Children's Home serving abused and homeless youth in our community. Each 6K registered participant receives a dry-fit performance race t-shirt, pre & post race snacks, along with other race day swag. Medals will be awarded for age categories and "Wrap it Up" Food Truck will be set up offering a "race menu" for runners to purchase.

2016 Hogs & Grogs Downtown

Friday Fest on July 1st

As you know Friday Fest is the evening festival in downtown Panama City where Harrison Avenue is closed to traffic from 6th Street south to Beach Drive during the hours of 5:00-10:00pm.  Thousands come to meet and greet and connect while buying from the many vendors, enjoying the LIVE music at the 4 different stages and eating good food while the shops stay open for late night customers..

A Country Music Festival in Panama City Beach, Florida – September 2-4, 2016 – three days and three nights of sensational Country on the Coast.


Brett Eldredge will open up for Brad Paisley on Friday, September 2. The Band Perry is scheduled to open up for Jake Owen on Saturday night. The festival closes with Lynyrd Skynyrd opening for Eric Church as the grand finale on Sunday night!

2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's
