The Panama City Downtown Improvement Board again presents FRIDAY FEST, the street festival on the first Friday evening of each month beginning around 5:30pm and continuing until 10:00pm in downtown Panama City.


Bring your friends and families (dogs must be socialized and on leashes) and party with thousands on Harrison Avenue.  Food and beverage vendors, live music, vendors with products of all shapes and sizes will be lining the streets along with children-friendly games, bouncehouses and challenges.

GCSC 2015 Summer Theatre Project

The 2015 GCSC Summer Theatre Project is a collaborative project between the Division of Visual and Performing Arts, The Millaway Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Advanced Technology Center, and Flytronics, LLC.


In this six-week course students will explore the interaction between extreme water sports, theatre and entertainment technology to kick off the new A.S. Degree in Entertainment Technology that starts Fall 2015 at GCSC. For a sample of the type of work we will be engaged in, visit

A.C. Mosley Summer Pre-Med Program

The Summer Pre-Med Program is a 3-day dissection lab that is dedicated to fostering the interest of students interested in the medical field.  Participating students are going into the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade.  The program is physician-led and provides a first-rate exposure to anatomy and dissection.  The Summer Pre-Med Program will include:  cat dissection, sheep heart dissection, kidney, liver and digestive dissection.  Also, sterile techniques and much, much more.  All activities are geared toward an 'insider's look' at being a student in the medical field.

NexGen Band in Concert

The NexGen Band is comprised of foster, adopted and biological children from foster and adoptive families in Florida.


NexGen has played at the Florida State Capitol, the National Faith Symposium, the DCF Child Protection Summit and the National and Florida Foster Parent Association conferences.


Each school aged child in foster and adoptive care at the event will receive a back pack with school supplies to prepare them for the 2015-2016 school year. Hot dogs and drinks will also be served.

The Bay Education Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit direct support foundation for Bay District Schools, will be hosting their 6th annual shotgun start Golf FORE Education Golf Tournament on August 29, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. at the Panama Country Club in Lynn Haven, FL.  


All proceeds from the tournament are invested in the Foundation's Take Stock In Children scholarship program, which prepares via mentoring financially at risk students for college/technical schools and offers a prepaid college/technical school scholarship as a motivational tool.

2nd Annual Zombie Run~Running Scared 5K for Zombie Apocalypse

Running Scared is a 5K course that ventures into the zombie infested woods and trails of Harder’s Park, where previous haunts have been encountered during the annual Haunted Hayrides.


Runners and walkers will undertake these rabid woods with 3 life flags hanging from their waste band and one goal: to reach the end of the obstacle and zombie filled course with at least one flag remaining. This is not a hard core mud run. However, runners will face obstacles and other challenges as they flee the attacking zombies while attempting to successfully cross the finish line to then join the living.
