Columbus Ships visit Panama City
05/04/2016 to 05/11/2016

On Wednesday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m., the ‘Pinta’ and the ‘Nina’, replicas of Columbus’ ships, will arrive in Panama City. The ships will be docked at the Panama City Municipal Marina, 1 Harrison Avenue, until their departure early Wednesday morning May 11th.

The media are invited to a private viewing of the ships after docking on Wednesday, May 4th. The ships open to the general public Friday, May 6th. The Nina was built by hand and without the use of power tools and is considered to be the most historically correct Columbus Replica ever built. The ‘Pinta’ was recently built in Brazil and is a larger version of the archetypal caravel.   Historians consider the caravel the Space Shuttle of the fifteenth century.

Admission charges are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors and $6.00 for students 5 – 16.    Children 4 and under are Free. The ships are open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.    No reservations necessary.
