Blue Tea for Diabetes Awareness and Care
10/29/2016

10:30 am - 01:00 pm

The Community Health Task Force’s (CHTF) Diabetes Advisory Council will hold the first Blue Tea for Diabetes Awareness and Care on Saturday, October 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Woman's Club of Panama City, 320 N. Cove Blvd.

Teas have long been chosen as a social atmosphere where communities can come together to share stories and rally behind an important cause. The Blue Tea is a new event where we will gather to promote diabetes awareness and raise funds to provide diabetes education for those without insurance.

How does it work? We are looking for table hostesses or hosts who will commit to the following: • Sponsor the table with a gift of $150 • Name the table in memory of or honor of a loved one who has been affected by diabetes • Bring 7 guests to enjoy the tea (tables seat 8) • Decorate the table in your finest china, table cover, centerpieces and tea service (viewer’s choice contest) In addition to a delicious meal, inspiring stories of hope, and fellowship with friends, we will hold a fashion show competition to crown the first ever Blue Tea Queen and we will have a silent auction. So, in addition to the table host(ess) we are looking for sponsors.

Why is the Blue Tea Important? Diabetes affects everyone in our community. Approximately 59,000 Bay County residents are at risk for developing diabetes, but most do not even know it.

Please return the response page or give me a call if you plan to participate. Amanda Bawn, B.A. Chair, 2016 Blue Tea

P.S. The Community Health Task Force (CHTF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with all donations fully tax-deductible. We hope that we can count on your support to help us reduce our community's risk of diabetes and promote healthy lifestyles.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 850-872-4455 x1290 or via email at Amanda.Bawn@flhealth.gov.
