The Bay County Chamber of Commerce Education Task Force in conjunction with Bay District Schools, Gulf Coast State College, Troy University and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University are presenting a day long career workshop for high school seniors. Career Connections will be held at Gulf Coast State College on November 8, 2012.
High school seniors from Bay County will be visiting GCSC, where they will meet with area business and industry leaders in an effort to showcase post graduation opportunities available in Bay County. The students were given a career inventory assessment prior to the event so they could be matched with the businesses they are interested in the most. Speakers from companies representing, healthcare, law enforcement, banking, hospitality and construction will be on hand to address the students during the morning session. Following lunch, the students will go through a series of training sessions that include Work Ethics, Professional Dress, Interviewing and Application Forms.

The program's mission is to aid high school seniors to identify their interests and skills and learn how those interests and skills can be utilized within the Bay County job market.
