U.S. House Natural Resources Committee to Hold Hearing in Bay County on How Fisheries Strengthen Our Economy
Saturday, August 25th, the Natural Resources Committee will hold a field hearing entitled "Fishing=Jobs: How Strengthening America's Fisheries Strengthens our Economy". The Committee has identified a number of challenges and impediments to fully utilizing the Gulf's fishery resources.
The hearing will be led by the Chairman, Rep. Doc Hastings (WA) with our Congressman Steve Southerland participating. Rep. Southerland is a member of this House Committee. Issues to be addressed include but not limited to: catch shares, outdated data and the National Ocean Policy.
The field hearing will be Saturday, August 25th at 10:00 CDT at Holley Academic Center of FSU-PC.
