Beginning May 1st, Gulf Power customers who choose to occupy an existing building within the Gulf Power service territory and meet certain requirements can submit an application for the "Building Strong Communities" incentive
program, which benefits businesses with thousands of dollars in credits.
The program is calculated based on the square footage of the building and business type. E.G. if a 10,000 square foot becomes a retail space, then the estimated incentive amount would be approx. $.36 per square foot for a total incentive of $3,600. There is no limit to the size of the building or incentive, although Gulf Power reserves the right to limit the applications, and modify or change the program at any time.
Some items on the requirements checklist are:

Building currently vacant at least 12 months

Minimum one year lease for new business

Minimum 10,000 sq. ft. conditioned space
