A public hearing will be held on August
16th to consider the National Council on Compensation Insurance,
Inc. (NCCI) Workers' Compensation rate filing.
In the filing, NCCI requests an overall average increase in rate levels
of 19.6% for the voluntary market for all new, renewal, and outstanding
workers' compensation insurance policies written in the State of Florida,

response to two recently settled Florida Supreme Court Cases regarding an
attorney fee provision and the temporary total disability benefits limit.
Meeting Location: The meeting will be held on August 16th
in Senator Jim King Committee Room 401, Senate Office Building, in Tallahassee,
Florida beginning at 9:00 a.m. (EST) until conclusion.

testimony at this hearing must pre-file their testimony in writing on or before
August 9th with attention to Anoush Brangaccio, General Council,
Office of Insurance Regulation, 200 East Gaines Street, Tallahassee, FL, 32399.
General Businesses: General Businesses may attend the
meeting to express concerns on how the rate filing will impact their
business. Interested parties may also
submit their comments in writing to David Altmaier, Commissioner, Office of
Insurance Regulation and Representative Jay Trumbull on how the proposed 19.6% rate increase will impact their business.
