Tallahassee, Fla. (October 2010) - Florida’s top chamber executives throughout the state were recognized for outstanding achievement and dedication to the industry at the 90th annual leadership conference of the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) held October 13-14 in Orlando.
Bay County Chamber of Commerce was honored as the Chamber of the Year for their very active government affairs program, having played a leadership role in the deep water horizon oil spill and their active work with the military. The Chamber also spent the past 10 years advocating relocation of the airport, resulting in the May grand opening of the new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.
“It was sincerely an honor to receive the award and know the thousands of hours dedicated to the success of this organization not only by staff but our membership at large”, said Carol Roberts, President/CEO.
This is the second time in the history of the organization to win this award and was accomplished within five years of one another. In 2004 the Bay County Chamber received the award for similar merits.
A formal presentation by President/CEO, Frank Ryll of the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) and Shane Moody, 2010/2011 Chairman of FACP will be held at the Bay County’s Chambers First Friday meeting on November 5, 2010 at the FSU-PC campus. The community and Chamber members are invited.
