Governmental Affairs Update 4/17/2013
Manufacturers Tax Elimination Bill Passes in House Committee
The Economic Affairs Committee passed House Bill 391 yesterday supporting Governor Rick Scott's initiative to eliminate the Manufacturer's Sales Tax. Joe Tannehill, Jr and Wayne Stubbs testified in front of the committee on behalf of Bay County.
The Chamber would like to thank Mr. Tannehill and Mr. Stubbs for their testimony and all the Chamber membership who reached out and contacted Florida representatives. We would also like to thank local Representative Jimmy Patronis for helping the bill move through committee. Their efforts will help create high-skill, high-wage jobs by making Florida's economy more competitive.
We continue to urge the membership to reach out to Florida representatives to make this bill law. For more information on eliminating the Manufacturer's Sales Tax, please click here.
