Junior Leadership Bay Participates in Mock Trial
For the third year in a row, area high school juniors participate in a mock trial as part of their eight month Junior Leadership Bay (JLB) program. The trial was held on March 5th at the Bay County Courthouse.
County Judge Joe Grammer participated in the event where the students participated in a live "mock trial". With the help of local attorney, Jay Manuel, and other lawyers and staff at Manuel & Thompson, students experienced the excitement of a live trial. The students acted as the parties involved in the lawsuit, various witnesses, and the jury, while real lawyers tried their case.
Junior Leadership Bay is a program of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce. JLB aims to provide students insight into Bay County businesses and government, provide an opportunity for them to give back to the community through service projects, and to learn about government through hands-on activities like the mock trial.
